The fabrics are woven with great care and love for craftsmanship. All creations are one-of-a-kind. Every step is done by hand. From measuring the material, threading the loom, the weaving process itself and applying the right finishing techniques. And in the final phase, the tailoring of the fabrics and products by a professional sewing atelier.
Sources of inspiration for the designs are. The refinement and mystique of traditional Japanese (textile) arts. The geometric compositions and patterns of Anni Albers and Bauhaus. But also the loom itself. The loom is like a metaphor for life. Opposite elements woven into one: loose & fixed, perfect & imperfect, feminine & masculine etc.. Searching for unity and connection in duality, over and over again. A fascinating process that is always in motion. This stratification, consciousness and love can be found in all products.
The patterns are often repetitive, just like in nature. Seasons, tides, the moon, etc.. Everything follows a larger pattern and is followed by a certain rhythm. With the rhythm of a pattern, we bring a natural, balanced and lively atmosphere into the house. The warm muted natural colours match the elements water, fire, earth and air. Living close to the sea, many of these sources of inspiration can be found. But also gemstones are a source of inspiration.
A handwoven fabric has a beautiful pure and vivid structure that cannot be matched by a machine. The collection will be produced in small editions. The collection will change, but more organic, not subject to trends or seasons. Creations that are not only beautiful but also functional. The longer you use the product, the more beautiful it becomes.
All creations are made of natural and high quality materials. Only sustainable yarns such as organic linen and/or organic cotton are used. Yarns that are GOTS or ecologically certified. But also durable merino wool. Preferably produced locally.
